We have developed and tested our advocacy method in a wide range of work over the last five years.

We now regularly teach our method and approach to NGOs, individuals, church groups and others. We can run workshops, seminars and day or evening trainings. Our students engage with poverty, social change, and civic life. Contact us for more information.

We really enjoy teaching, so we’d love to teach your group how to advocate and make social change as well. Get in touch if for more information.

What people say about us

DR JARROD GILBERT – CRIMINOLOGIST AND GANGS EXPERT: HOWARD LEAGUE

I have come across few, if any, public speakers who engage an audience like Jolyon. If I knew his formula, I would steal it.

RHYS WILLIAMS – GENERATION ZERO

Jolyon ran a workshop for us on meeting with MPs about a specific issue, and blew us away with his knowledge and insight. Despite speaking to a group with a wide range of experience, Jolyon was able to make the workshop relevant and useful for everyone. He is a master at communicating lots of information in a clear and concise way, and we went away feeling motivated and well-prepared.

CHELSEA – 17-YEAR-OLD AVONSIDE GIRLS’ STUDENT AND WORSHIPS AT ST AIDAN’S IN BRYNDWR

Learning from these guys was so awesome! The Anglican Advocacy Unit and my mentor Cassie inspired myself and friends to create a community space at my school. We decided to develop vegetable and flower gardens with the help of kids from the neighbouring kindy. The Change-Makers teaching not only has empowered me to make change in my community and world but has also motivated everyone involved. We hope that others get this fantastic opportunity too!

PAUL O’NEILL – CEO, COMMUNITY LAW CANTERBURY

We have engaged Jolyon as a keynote speaker on several occasions across a variety of audiences including youth and groups and have really enjoyed his talks. Jolyon is a passionate and committed advocate for the disempowered and forgotten in our society. He talks in a knowledgeable and engaging way. Jolyon will leave a positive impression and motivate those that hear him.

JOEL BALMER – YOUNG ENGINEER AT ST CHRISTOPHER’S IN AVONHEAD

My outlook was hugely challenged through all I experienced on Social Exposure. Over 10 days my assumptions about the harsh situations people live in were shattered as I was humbled and taught both by the people I met both on the street and the people working to help them get off it. If you have a heart for the poor then this course is for you. If you don’t have a heart for the poor then this course will give you one.
